Oral Thrush in Babies

Oral Thrush is so common in babies ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ

And can be painful too โ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ฃ


So what is Thrush? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ


It appears as white patches in baby's mouth. A very common infection in the mouth of babies that is caused by a yeast like Fungus Candida Albicans.


No stress mama! ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ


Usually nothing serious, however it can be uncomfortable and painful. Also it can cause difficulties with feeding ๐Ÿคฑ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿผ


So how can you recognize Thrush in baby/mama?

๐Ÿ”น Baby has visible patches on his/her tongue, lips, gums, cheeks.

๐Ÿ”น The patches look like milk or cottage cheese and cannot be wiped away.

๐Ÿ”น Bottle feeding or sucking on a pacifier can be painful/uncomfortable.

๐Ÿ”น The corners of babyโ€™s mouth may crack.

๐Ÿ”น Mamas nipples are itchy, red, shiny and sometimes you can even see yeast on them.


โ˜๏ธThere are some babies with Thrush that donโ€™t experience any pain or discomfort.
